Built in the early 1920s, and once the residence of writer William Burroughs, the project seeks to reconcile the building's spatial generosity with the intimacy demanded by its gallery programme. The primary element of the restoration centers on the reactivation of the loggia, a translucent transitional gallery mediating between the building's interior spatial sequence and the leafy patio. Lime-plaster walls and original tiles mends the material integrity of the heritage structure.
